To the Cheerful Nix | Program & Opening Hours

The Cheerful Nix is not just a pub, but a small arts café with a cultural profile located at Hirschgasse 1 in Blaubeuren, right in the old town by the town hall. The official website describes it as a friendly place of sociability for young and old, where food, drink, and culture mix naturally. Those who come here will not find a sober event hall, but a lively meeting point with a personal touch, short distances, and an atmosphere that immediately favors encounters over distance. The location itself adds to the charm: central, historic, close to the cityscape of Blaubeuren, and at the same time with the charm of a place where one does not just consume something, but wants to spend time. The combination of tarte flambée, baked baguettes, hot drinks, and a changing cultural program explains why many users specifically search for program, opening hours, menu, or photos. In summer, a backyard café complements the character of the house, and larger visitor groups are asked to announce themselves briefly in advance so that the visit can be prepared in a relaxed manner. Program, Events, and Small Arts at Nix

The current program shows that Nix is much more than a café. The website regularly lists concerts, cabaret, quiz nights, game nights, exhibitions, lectures, self-help groups, and children's programs. Additionally, there are special formats such as sing-along evenings, repair cafés, ukulele meetings, or open stages. This very mix explains the search queries for programs, events, and special dates. Those looking for an evening with music will find world music, singer-songwriters, folk, blues, or pop at Nix; those who prefer something communicative will find quizzes and communal singing; and those searching for an open, unpretentious stage will land at formats like Open Stage. The collaboration with the adult education center indicates that the house functions not only as a catering venue but also as a cultural infrastructure in the city. Events are curated not randomly, but with a clear idea of participation, closeness, and the local scene. The program pages also show that Nix repeatedly brings together artists with very different styles, from fine songwriting to entertaining cabaret evenings to poetic or political formats. This creates a profile that is as practical as it is demanding. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/location/))

This is particularly evident in the program overview: there, concerts alternate with low-threshold participation formats. The official weekly and monthly pattern ranges from the bi-weekly quiz night to the game night the following Thursday to the monthly white sausage breakfast, the sing-along evening, the repair café, and ukulele playing. This regularity is important for guests because it shows that Nix does not only live from individual events but is a reliable cultural address with recurring meeting points. At the same time, the program remains flexible enough for guest artists, themed evenings, and special formats. Therefore, those looking for a specific date should always check the current overview; those looking for a type of evening can orient themselves by the character of the series. This balance of predictability and surprise is what makes the charm of the house. Anyone who has experienced Nix quickly realizes that the evening here consists not only of a stage but of a complete picture of contact, music, conversation, and spontaneous participation. This is an important reason why the search intent behind the keyword program is so strongly associated with the house. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/))

Opening Hours, Days Off, and the Best Visiting Times

The opening hours are deliberately unconventional and match the character of the house. According to the website, Monday is a day off. On Tuesdays, Nix opens at 9:30 PM for the night owl meeting, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays, it opens daily at 5 PM. For Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: if no event is planned, Nix remains closed; if there is, it’s showtime. This rule is particularly relevant for seekers because the most common questions about opening hours are often associated with the desire to know without detours whether a spontaneous visit is worthwhile. The house communicates very clearly that the event operation does not run standardized like in a classic daytime gastronomy, but is strongly oriented towards program evenings. That’s why the date is almost more important than the day of the week. The page also conveys a certain attitude: Nix is a place that organizes itself around culture, not around a rigid ongoing operation. This makes the opening hours somewhat different from those in a normal café, but at the same time very transparent for everyone who wants to plan an evening at Nix. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/))

In practice, this means: those who simply want to have a drink, experience an evening with music, or attend one of the regular series should check the calendar in advance. Especially on the open days Wednesday and Thursday, there are good chances for a relaxed visit, while the weekend may be full or closed depending on the event. This structure also explains why the house is often perceived in reviews and search queries as a place with a special rhythm. It is not a place for random passersby at any hour, but an address for targeted visits, for evenings with a concept, and for guests who consciously seek the mix of cuisine, culture, and sociability. Those who know this plan more relaxed and experience Nix exactly as it is intended: as a place with a clear rhythm and a lot of personality. This is also helpful for repeat visits, as one quickly learns which days are suitable for a quiet conversation and which are more suitable for a full event feeling. Thus, a simple question about opening hours becomes a piece of practical visiting strategy. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/))

Menu, Tarte Flambée, and Hot Drinks at Nix

Even with the menu, the Cheerful Nix relies on a down-to-earth, well-functioning mix. The official location page mentions crispy tarte flambée and baked baguettes as typical dishes, as well as a wide range of hot drinks. This fits a small arts café where an evening is not defined by a large menu, but by uncomplicated, honest cuisine that suits conversations, culture, and longer stays. For many search queries, this clarity is important: it is not about fine dining, but about reliable, friendly café and pub values that accompany rather than overwhelm the cultural evening. That guests search for the menu also shows how important the culinary aspect is for the overall atmosphere. Here, food is not a side show, but part of the experience. The website conveys the impression that they consciously do not work with an overly complicated selection, but with dishes that are quickly understandable and make the stay pleasant. This is a very fitting solution for a house that places music, quizzes, and encounters at its center. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/location/))

Additionally, the event page refers to lovingly arranged snack plates with regional products for certain evenings, and formats like Takt & Torte focus on coffee and cake. This makes it clear that Nix remains culinarily flexible and switches between café, pub, and cultural meeting place depending on the occasion. In summer, the backyard café also attracts visitors, making the stay even more open and airy. This backyard character is a strong distinguishing feature, as it gives the house a relaxed, almost homely feel. So, those looking for the menu are often in truth searching for the overall feeling: What do I get to drink, what to eat, and how closely is the kitchen connected to the evening? This question is answered by Nix with a clear, regionally grounded, and culture-friendly line. The combination of simple dishes, hot drinks, and depending on the evening, complementary snack or cake offerings ensures that the house works both for a quick stop and for a longer evening. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/location/))

Reserve Tickets, Gifts, and Group Registration

Ticket reservation at the Cheerful Nix is pleasantly uncomplicated. On their own page, the team explains that one can simply send an email, and the tickets will be sent either by email for printing or by post after payment. This sounds deliberately unbureaucratic and fits the personal orientation of the house. Also, for people looking to reserve tickets or give tickets as gifts, this is good news: Nix thinks not only of regular ticket purchases but also of gift ideas and special requests. Especially for smaller, special events, this is a plus because the contact remains direct and human. The house relies on a service that is not dependent on anonymous click paths but on direct communication and flexible solutions. Those planning an evening at Nix quickly realize that reservations here are not intended as mass processing but as personal coordination. This is particularly fitting for a cultural café that thrives on regular guests, local audiences, and targeted visits. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/location/karten-reservieren/))

For groups, the website additionally recommends announcing themselves briefly in advance. This note is practical and at the same time a good sign that the house is not designed for mass operation but for individual planning and personal care. Those coming with several people can thus be better coordinated for the evening and avoid spontaneous seating problems. The program texts also make it clear that individual evenings explicitly require registration for performers or guests. Nix is thus intended not only for the audience but also as a place for participation and encounters. For the search intent behind terms like reserving tickets, looking for the owner, or events, this means: the direct way through contact and email is usually more sensible than any anonymous booking process. The organization thus appears almost familial and at the same time surprisingly clear. Those giving a voucher or a ticket as a gift receive not only admission but a piece of cultural everyday life from Blaubeuren. This personal touch explains why the house often appears in search queries not only as a location but as an experiential destination. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/location/))

Location in Hirschgasse, Photos, and Virtual Tour

The location in Hirschgasse is one of the strongest advantages of the house. It is located in the middle of the idyllic old town of Blaubeuren, right by the town hall, and the website even describes the way vividly with the sequence town hall, town hall pharmacy, then Nix. This central position makes the café easy to find while being embedded in the historic cityscape. Those searching for Blaubeuren, for photos, or for a small arts café in Hirschgasse will thus receive exactly the right mix of orientation and atmosphere. Additionally, the website refers to a virtual tour as well as a gallery where video and photo material is collected. So, those who want to get an impression in advance will find not only a few pictures online but a whole archive of memories and performances. This is particularly helpful for seekers because it allows them to experience not just a place but also its mood. The visual level here is more than decoration; it is part of the house's brand identity and directly supports the search queries for photos. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/location/))

The person behind the house also significantly shapes the perception. On the contact page, Hans Wild is named as the impresario and owner; the regional press has described him for years as a host with cultural aspirations. This fits the self-description of the house and explains why gastronomy, music, and attitude are so closely intertwined at Nix. The gallery and program pages also show that a small cultural scene has formed around the house, where local bands, recurring formats, and guest artists come together. For seekers looking for the owner, reviews, or photos, a fairly clear picture emerges: The Cheerful Nix is not an interchangeable pub but a personally shaped cultural café with local roots, its own tone, and a recognizable sense of community. This mix of local proximity, visual material, and personal responsibility makes the house tangible for visitors and creates trust even before the first step through the door. That’s also why the name sticks easily in the memory. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/kontakt/))

Owner Hans Wild and the Cultural Profile of the House

To understand the Cheerful Nix, one must also consider Hans Wild. On the contact page, he appears as the impresario and owner, not just as a mere operator in the background, but as a shaping figure who co-designs the house in content and atmosphere. Regional reporting has described him as a host with cultural aspirations for years, which fits very well with the positioning of Nix. It is not just about serving drinks or providing a space. Rather, a place is created where culture is treated not as an addition but as the core of daily identity. That’s why the many different formats work so well: a quiz night requires a different energy than a sing-along evening, a repair café a different tone than a folk or blues concert. Nix manages to organize these differences not as contradictions but as enrichments. Thus, a house emerges that is equally neighborly, musical, and surprisingly versatile. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/kontakt/))

The cultural profile is also reflected in the recurring names and series on the website. House and courtyard bands, special evenings, open stages, and collaborations with local initiatives make it clear that Nix stands not only for programming but also for scene-building on a small scale. This form of work is particularly valuable for a city like Blaubeuren because it brings together people with different interests without overwhelming the place. Music fans, walkers, regular guests, culture enthusiasts, and the curious each find a suitable access point. Those searching for the owner often unconsciously also inquire about the character of the house, and the website gives a clear answer to that: Nix is personal, down-to-earth, culturally open, and close to the people. The mix of historical location, versatile program, direct contact, and visible handwriting explains why the place remains so present both in local memory and in digital search. This is no coincidence but the result of a long-developed cultural work with a recognizable face. ([zumnix.de](https://zumnix.de/kontakt/))

One of the few establishments – with the original and apt name “Vesely NichogoOsoblivogo” – that is open from 2 pm in Blaubeuren, when everything is closed. Friendly service to both locals and tourists. Order Alsatian flammekeche ([flamkuchen]) and Pilsner in a signature glass with a cuff. There is an outdoor veranda for smokers, and games for children.

Anyone wishing to attend an event should register at least 7 days in advance. Those who would like to enjoy some of the delicious food 😋 😋 before the event and need a table should arrive at least one hour beforehand. Groups should sit at the available tables on the right. Those arriving shortly before the event will have to make do with what's left. I enjoyed it very much and will gladly come again. 🙂👍

Not recommended!!! Arrived, chose a table in the beer garden. We waited for almost a quarter of an hour, no one came to clean the table, and instead the owner sat down with other guests and chatted with them. They looked like friends or relatives. It didn't even bother him that we just got up and left... We could do without such "hospitality"!!!

We were looking for a venue for an official event. The tourist information office recommended the cheerful Nix. Unfortunately, Mr. Wild's venue wasn't suitable for our event, but he was incredibly helpful in finding an alternative. We ended up finding one ourselves, but thank you so much, Mr. Wild, for your efforts! We truly appreciate it, especially given the current challenges facing the restaurant industry.
