Marimba Peace Mass: Sound and Prayer for Peace

When the first notes sound in the Wiblingen Monastery Church on All Saints' Day, musical design connects with lived spirituality. The Marimba Peace Mass invites to a special Eucharistic celebration, where prayer, Latin mass texts, and modern church music come together for an impressive experience of faith.

A mass between tradition and present

The Peace Mass composed by Elke Landenberger sets the Ordinary texts of the Latin mass to music. The prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi is at the center of the entrance choir: the wish to be an instrument of peace. The contemporary musical language gives this concern a special relevance and opens up space for reflection, hope, and communal prayer.

Marimba, choirs, and colorful church music

The musical arrangement combines a mixed choir, marimba, accordion, double bass, and alto flute. Participating are the church choir Urspring, the Hugo-Herrmann Women's Choir Ulm, marimba players Jonathan Park and Cosima Denk, Annette Pfister on alto recorder, and an ensemble from the Felkel Accordion Orchestra. The direction is taken by the composer Elke Landenberger herself.

All Saints in the Basilica St. Martin

The celebration on November 1 takes place within the liturgical context of the Catholic feast of All Saints. In the Basilica St. Martin in Wiblingen Monastery, historic sacral architecture, communal singing, and the meditative power of the marimba come together. The peaceful atmosphere of the church space offers visitors time for prayer, memory, and inner reflection.

Open invitation to the community

The Marimba Peace Mass is aimed at worship attendees, music enthusiasts, and individuals seeking a religious experience in a special musical form. Participation is open to all; entry to the mass is free. Access to the event location is wheelchair accessible according to the event notice.

Visitors can expect a dignified Eucharistic celebration with modern spiritual music, Latin liturgy, and a strong peace impulse. Experience the Marimba Peace Mass live and let the sound, prayer, and community at Wiblingen Monastery touch you.
