Heavenward and In the Middle: Church Cabaret with Marlies Blume
Where faith, everyday life, and Swabian humor meet, a special evening for heart and mind is created. On October 16, 2026, the church cabaret Heavenward and In the Middle invites you to an entertaining and thought-provoking religious experience at the House of Encounter in Ulm.
Cabaret with Head, Heart, Hand, and Foot
Marlies Blume, known in private life as Heike Sauer, is among the well-known voices of Swabian cabaret. The artist, who has received the Sebastian-Blau Prize for Swabian cabaret and the Baden-Württemberg Small Arts Prize, combines playful use of language, singing, dancing, and pointed observations.
Between Spirituality and Everyday Life
The evening leads directly into the questions of life: with humor, energy, and an eye for the small and large contradictions of everyday life. Marlies Blume goes inward, comes back out, and grows beyond herself. Her stage character connects religious themes, human experiences, and Swabian directness to create a lively faith experience beyond classic liturgy.
An Event of Church Educational Institutions
The church cabaret is organized by the Catholic Adult Education Ulm-Alb-Donau together with the KEB District Neu-Ulm and the Protestant Educational Work Alb-Donau. Thus, the evening is in the tradition of church educational work, which connects encounters, social dialogue, and personal reflection.
Community, Reflection, and Heartfelt Laughter
At the House of Encounter, visitors can expect a warm atmosphere filled with much playfulness, musical moments, and pointed thoughts. The event is aimed at people from the community and the region as well as anyone who approaches religious questions with openness, humor, and curiosity.
An evening with Marlies Blume does not remain on the surface: between laughter and reflection, new perspectives on faith, community, and life in the middle arise. Those who want to experience church cabaret as an inspiring connection of entertainment and spirituality will find a special occasion for encounter in Ulm on October 16, 2026.
