Anniversary Sunday at the Monastery of Roggenburg: Faith, History, and Organ Sound
A Sunday dedicated to faith, community, and the rich history of the monastery awaits visitors on October 11, 2026, at the Premonstratensian Monastery of Roggenburg. The Anniversary Sunday combines a festive worship service with fellowship, culinary impressions, and a special tour of the Roggenburg organ.
Festive Worship Service and Collective Arrival
The day begins at 10 a.m. with a festive worship service. The sermon will be given by Director Martin Riß from the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Work Ursberg. The central theme is the guiding principle of Serving the Well-being of the Church and the World. The musical accompaniment will be provided by Cantabile. Afterwards, the monastic community invites everyone to a get-together in front of the church. This creates space for exchange, personal encounters, and a shared experience of faith.
Delight and History in the Monastery Shop
At 1:30 p.m., the event combines spiritual community with regional monastic culture. Guests can enjoy a small tasting of two anniversary wines in the monastery shop while gaining insight into monastic life, both past and present in Roggenburg. The combination of history, lived spirituality, and hospitable encounters makes this part of the program a special religious experience.
Discover the Great Roggenburg Organ
At 3 p.m., the public organ tour begins with Prior Father Stefan Kling O.Praem. Under the title The Great Roggenburg Organ, he will take participants behind the scenes of the Roggenburg organ. The meeting point is in front of the monastery shop. Visitors will experience the sacred sound world, learn more about the function of the organ, and gain an illustrative approach to the liturgical music in the monastery.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there is the opportunity for lunch at the monastery inn. Additionally, other offerings on the monastery grounds will open: the monastery shop, monastery inn, and monastery museum invite guests to linger and discover. Escape room, Actionbound, and audio tours are also part of the accompanying program. Families can participate in the Family Environmental Afternoon at 2 p.m.
