Ulm Wind Quintet: Woodwind Sound with Character in the Edwin-Scharff-Haus
Five instruments, five timbres, and an evening of musical discoveries: The Ulm Wind Quintet performs on Saturday, June 5, 2027, in the Small Hall of the Edwin-Scharff-Haus in Neu-Ulm. Admission is free, and the doors open at 18:00.
Colorful Chamber Music with Virtuosic Precision
Flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon combine to create a colorful ensemble sound. The Ulm Wind Quintet presents original compositions and arrangements from various periods of music history. Between transparent dialogues, warm horn colors, and buoyant woodwind lines, a versatile musical dramaturgy emerges.
Five Voices, a Dynamic Sound Body
The ensemble has been working with reconfigurations since 2010 and draws on the orchestral and chamber music experience of its musicians based in Ulm. The different characters of the instruments meet precise synchronization, fine articulation, and a balanced orchestration in a small format.
Musicians from the Region
The lineup includes Verena Höß on flute, Christina Völk on oboe, Jochen Anger on clarinet, Achim Schmid-Egger on horn, and Guido Bauer on bassoon. The members work as freelance artists, orchestral musicians, soloists, conductors, and music educators, among others. Their diverse experiences shape the stage performance and the characteristic sound of the quintet.
Free Admission in the Small Hall
The Small Hall of the Edwin-Scharff-Haus offers a seated and easily accessible concert environment. The compact acoustic effect brings the details of the woodwind music directly to the audience: Breath, articulation, and the subtle transitions between the voices become part of the concert experience.
The audience can expect a versatile, harmonious, and virtuosic concert featuring locally rooted musicians. Those who want to experience the tonal diversity of a woodwind quintet live should not miss this free concert evening in Neu-Ulm.
