Quadro Nuevo brings HAPPY DELUXE to Ulm
On Thursday, October 22, 2026, Quadro Nuevo transforms the Werkhalle in ROXY Ulm into a vibrant sound space between jazz, world music, and Mediterranean lightness. The concert starts at 20:00, and doors open at 19:00.
Between Tango, Brazil, and Mediterranean Glamour
Quadro Nuevo combines tango, Valse Musette, flamenco, film music, and improvised world music into a distinctive acoustic sound. In Ulm, the program HAPPY DELUXE takes center stage – a musical journey shaped by encounters in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian joie de vivre, and southern sound colors.
Virtuoso Stage Performance with Chris Gall
With Mulo Francel on saxophone, clarinets, and mandolin, Andreas Hinterseher on accordion, bandoneon, vibrandoneon, and trumpet, D.D. Lowka on double bass and percussion, and Chris Gall on piano, a colorful orchestration emerges. Precise synchronization meets spontaneous improvisation, bouncy rhythms meet far-reaching melody arcs.
A Concert Full of Movement and Atmosphere
The music of Quadro Nuevo thrives on the interplay of danceable pulse, warm sound, and surprising twists. Sometimes it swings high into buzzing sound spaces, sometimes it sparkles with Mediterranean flair, and sometimes it opens up for relaxed daydreams and nocturnal fantasies. The live atmosphere arises immediately: acoustic instruments, virtuosic interplay, and an ensemble that brings its pieces to the here and now with palpable joy of playing.
An Award-Winning World Music Band
Since its founding in 1996, Quadro Nuevo has performed on international stages and at renowned festivals. The formation has received the ECHO award twice in the category of Live Act of the Year, several jazz awards, and a gold record. Albums like Mocca Flor, Tango Bitter Sweet, Mare, and HAPPY DELUXE represent a discography that continually redefines the connection between jazz, tango, and world music.
